I’m excited to share yet another easy recipe that couldn’t be simpler. Broccolini is a cross between broccoli and Gai-lan (Chinese broccoli) & just seems more elegant to eat! This dish is a great way to get your greens in. Super quick and easy to prepare! I usually find broccolini at Sobeys near the packaged fresh vegetables and lettuce/salad mixes. If you can’t find broccolini you could also substitute regular broccoli, but I always like to try new vegetables! Expand your taste buds!

An elegant & tasty way to get your greens in!
- 1 bunch broccolini
 - ½ fresh lemon
 - baking soda
 - sliced almonds
 - salt, pepper, & sesame seeds to garnish

-

Cut off approx 1" of stem from the broccolini & place in boiling water for approx 5 mins until they are soft (I like to add a little bit of baking soda to the water - it helps to bring out the vibrant green colour!)
 -

Strain & transfer to an ice-bath to stop the cooking process. Strain again.
 -

Squeeze fresh lemon juice over & top with sliced almonds & sesame seeds. Season to your liking with salt & pepper! No oil or sauce required! How easy is that?!
